The spirit of TRF meetings are designed to stimulate research in science and engineering, with emphasis on technologies related to transducers, microsystems, and nanosystems, and to foster the exchange of ideas and information between academic, industrial, and government researchers. The meetings provide ample opportunities for discussion and networking along with a technical, highest quality papers and presentations.

TRF also sponsors worldwide topical and focused conferences, seminars, and short courses in the microsystems field i.e. "POWERMEMS", "Microtechnologies in Medicine and Biology Conference (MMB)", the Transducers Americas Conferences, etc.
