General Info Conference Officials Previous Conferences |
The objective of our conference is to catalyze innovation in micro- and nano-scale technologies for power generation and energy conversion. Broadly speaking, PowerMEMS focuses on all aspects of energy conversion and processing at the micro and nano scales. Its topics of interest range from basic principles, to materials and fabrication, to devices and systems, to applications. All energy domains are of interest, including, but not limited to: electrical, fluidic, gravitational, hydraulic, mechanical, nuclear, optical, pneumatic and thermal energy domains. Continuing the tradition of recent years, we are excited to welcome PowerMEMS in action demonstrations. Also, we will have focus sessions based on the topics of our plenary speakers: Multiferroic Materials, Devices and Systems; Energy for Wearables and Implantables; and Zero-Power Devices and Systems. Authors can optionally "elevate" their conference paper submission into a fully peer-reviewed journal article in J. Micromechanics and Microengineering or Smart Materials and Systems (in which the conf. paper is not archived online). We will dine directly underneath the retired Space Shuttle orbiter Atlantis at the Kennedy Space Center for the conference banquet, and there is a decent chance of witnessing a rocket launch during the conference dates.
