Wednesday, June 7 SUB-NANOMETER POSITION CONTROL USING A SECOND STAGE ACTUATOR IN HARD DISC DRIVES Dallas Meyer Seagate Dallas Meyer is currently the Vice President of Engineering at Seagate, located in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Seagate's very successful Enterprise product line including the 10,000 and 15,000 rpm Cheetah products are developed in Twin Cities, with Seagate currently shipping more than 50% of the world's supply of enterprise drive storage. Prior to his current position, he founded NanoMega, a start-up company focused on MEMS magnetic recording head designs. Prior positions included Sr. Vice President for Finisar Corporation, developing high-speed optical transceivers and test equipment, and Vice President of Engineering for Read-Rite Corporation, developing recording head technology for personal and enterprise disc drives. Dallas has a Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics and Materials Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a B.S./M.S. in Structural Engineering from the University of Nebraska. |
